Car crashes on the rise: 2 killed, 3 injured in Jadra and Chiyah

One person was killed and three were injured Saturday on Jadra’s coastal highway in Iklim el-Kharoub in a car crash between a Chevrolet truck, a Daihatsu pick-up truck ridden by Mohammad Zougheib and Alaa Mounzer and a Mercedes driven by Mohammad Walid Jawhar. The truck’s driver Ahmad Hilal was immediately killed and his body was transferred to Sidon’s public hospital, while the three injured were rushed to Hammoud Hospital.

Meanwhile, another car accident occurred in Chiyah on Sidon’s old road near Beirut Mall after Khaled Helwani’s vehicle collided with that of Fatima Makchar. Zaynab Rachid who happened to be passing by the accident scene died of her wounds.

Both drivers are now at Ghobeiry police station upon the request of the concerned judiciary.
