Laurent Fabius renews commitment to UNIFIL
Former French Prime minister and parliament Speaker Laurent Fabius, wrapped up an official visit to Beirut during which he solicited French expatriate support for Socialist party candidate Francois Holland.

Fabius conferred in Beirut with Socialist party candidate Rita Maalouf who is running on a Paris 10th District ticket during the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. The French official who harshly criticized Sarkozy's bad performance, expressed confidence in F.S.P's gaining the upper electoral hand.

Upon departure to Doha, Fabius reiterated F.S.P's support for the Arab Spring including holding free elections in more than an Arab country. He condemned massacres perpetrated by Assad against his people and renewed French peace-keeping commitment in the South in the event of Holland's coming to power.
