"Jabal Mohsen suicide bombers, identified as Tah Samir Kayyal and Bilal Ibrahim, hail from al-Mankoubin area," the NNA added.
In a phone call with LBCI, Lebanese Red Cross Operations Director George Kettaneh said at least 7 were killed and more than 35 were wounded in the Jabal Mohsen explosion.
The governor of the North ordered a curfew in Tripoli’s Jabal Mohsen and the surrounding areas until Sunday 7 a.m.
Meanwhile, Criminal Evidence teams headed to the explosion site in Jabal Mohsen to unveil the circumstances of the incident.
“On Saturday the 10th of January, a suicide bombing targeted - around 7:30 p.m.- a cafe in Jabal Mohsen, causing casualties among citizens,” the Army Command- Orientation Directorate said. The army also noted that military experts are inspecting the site of the explosion whereas the military police launched an investigation into the incident.
The northern city of Tripoli has been repeatedly buffeted by violence linked to the civil war in neighboring Syria.
