Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai stressed that “the cycle of corruption must be broken, and the state’s treasury must be protected in order to ensure job opportunities for the Lebanese people.”
In his holy sermon delivered during Sunday’s mass in Bkerke, Rai said “should contempt of divine and moral laws persist, injustice will aggravate and corruption will prevail.”
“Our Lebanese community is currently witnessing a dire phase, due to lack of transparency, growing waste of public funds, violation of laws, contracts and commitments and to prioritizing personal interests over national matters,” he added.
