Geagea: to maintain Christian presence in the region

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea congratulated the Lebanese on Thursday, especially the Maronites, on the occasion of St. Maroun Day, hoping that this occasion be positive for the country.

Saint Maroun, born in the middle of the 4th century, was a priest who later became a hermit, retiring to a mountain near Antioch, Turkey. He attracted many followers who later became known as the Maronites.

Geagea stressed the importance of the Christian presence in the Orient, calling for preserving and maintaining Christians in the region, and bolstering interfaith dialogue for better coexistence.
