Alain Aoun to LBCI: Rai’s message to Sleiman does not concern us

Change and Reform Bloc MP Alain Aoun said on Friday that “General Michel Aoun attended the Saint Maroun Mass on Thursday to pray, not to show off.”

“The Change and Reform bloc convoy arrived late so Aoun did not want to interrupt the Mass by greeting the attendees,” MP Alain Aoun told Nharkom Said TV show.

Aoun confirmed that the message addressed by Patriarch Beshara Rai to President Michel Sleiman does not concern his bloc.

“You have a big heart and as president, your Excellency, you embrace everyone,” Rai told Sleiman during the Thursday Mass.

Aoun added “we have the right to express our disagreement with the president; no one enjoys political immunity.”

“The bloc has not set any conditions to return to cabinet”, he said, adding that “he who sparks the crisis shall end it.”

Aoun called for finding an exit that takes into account the law along with the cabinet decisions, as he wondered “do the Lebanese accept that institutions remain inactive due to a decree issue?”
