Future bloc: Renewal of STL protocol ends a phase of bidding and tensions

The Parliamentary Future Bloc confirmed on Thursday that the positions voiced during the Biel ceremony revealed the importance of the initiative launched by former PM Saad Hariri to fend off any attempts to incite sedition between the Lebanese or Muslims.

In a statement delivered by MP Atef Majdalani, the bloc said that the official report issued on Wednesday, which takes note of the UN Chief’s suggestion to renew the STL protocol for another three years, “puts an end to a phase of biddings, tensions and intentional battles of illusions that the country can do without.”

“It is clear that Lebanon cannot survive under a situation that harms the citizens, the country and its economy,” the bloc added.

In its concluding remarks, the bloc pointed out that a decisive solution should be found for the crisis-hit Hariri public hospital.
