3 former students sneak onto school campus, beat teacher

Hanadi Traboulsi, a physical education instructor, was attacked by former students on Wednesday at a public school in the town of Deir al-Zahrani, the NNA reported on Wednesday.

As she was giving regular courses in the schoolyard on Tuesday, Traboulsi noticed three 16-year-old former students sneaking onto the school campus through a fence.

The teacher tried to deter them from getting in. As she was heading for the administration to report the incident, the trespassing students lashed out and began beating her. She was accordingly rushed to the Nabbatiyeh Public Hospital for treatment.

The school principle pressed charges against the former students who were arrested by security officers.

Traboulsi’s colleagues staged a sit-in on the school campus on Wednesday in denunciation of the attack against the teacher and to express solidarity with their victimized colleague.
