Following a tour at the Defense Ministry headquarters in Yarzeh, PM Salam said that the current local and regional challenges are numerous, pointing out that the security plans implemented by the cabinet across the Lebanese regions have managed to restore security and stability.
On another note, Salam saluted the families of the abducted soldiers, adding that their case will be followed up until the release of all hostages.
Several Lebanese army soldiers and policemen were taken hostage by al-Nusra Front the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), following clashes between the Lebanese army and armed groups in the northeastern border town of Arsal in August 2014.
While the release of five men provided a degree of relief, concerns remain about the troops still in captivity since four of them have been killed despite ongoing negotiations with the Lebanese authorities to secure their release.
