Sleiman: Current political ideology puts a spoke in the state wheel

President Michel Sleiman said on Saturday that what is putting a spoke in the wheel of state and public institutions is the political ideology grounded in taking advantage of a system based on participation and plurality to preserve the factional and sectarian quotas in politics and administration.

While receiving a delegation of the new administrative board for the national gathering in Iqlim al-Kharoub, Sleiman highlighted the importance of not wasting time in disputes and duels that politicize the tabled issues but rather called for limiting the competition to resolving these issues.

Sleiman also met with former PM Fouad Siniora and discussed latest internal developments as he also received from the Iraqi presidential envoy Ali Shukri an invitation to attend the Arab summit to be held in Baghdad in March.
