Druze Sheikh al-Hinawi rejects violence in Syria, calls for national reconciliation

Sheikh Akel of el-Mowahideen el-Druze Sect, Sheikh Abu Wael Hamoud al-Hinawi rejected the recourse to violence to resolve national issues, calling for addressing the problems between the regime and opposition with reasonability and wisdom.

Sheikh Al-Hinawi also called for resorting to dialogue and reform instead of weapons, confirming his support for national unity and civil peace and his rejection to violence for “the sole loser is the Syrian people.”

Sheikh al-Hinawi stressed that he has been trying to fill the gaps between the Syrian people since the 11- month-long events emerged.

The Sheikh called on the Syrians to work on “healing the wounds” and achieving national reconciliation.
