Killer of shop owner in Sidon identified and arrested thanks to surveillance cameras

Security forces arrested a Syrian national hours after he robbed and killed the owner of a cellular shop in Sidon. According to the security forces, a knife wielding man stormed a shop selling mobile phones and prepaid cards owned by 66-year-old Mohammed Zantout near Sidon.

The assailant stabbed and beat Zantout several times, causing his instant death.

The assailant, who also robbed cash from the coffer, was eventually arrested after security forces examined the surveillance cameras in the shop which revealed the identity of the perpetrator.

Ater a long chase, the police managed to stop Naser al Fars (born in 1990) in Beirut.
