Nkoula to Qabbani: we hope Judiciary follows up on electricity issue till the end
Change and Reform bloc MP Nabil Nkoula commented on the step taken by Future bloc MP Mohammad Qabbani to file a lawsuit against him for failing to pay his electricity bills.
“We saw electricity bills belonging to Mohammad Qabbani and we are used to hear curses, lies and fabrications from the Future bloc, mainly from Qabbani; they did not bear to see their files opened”, he said.

Nkoula added in his statement issued by his information bureau “We are happy that Qabbani went to court, and we hope that the Judiciary will follow up on this issue till the end”. He said that the bills are not counterfeit, they are sealed by the concerned institutions, adding that all papers are documented.

The statement said that Electricité du Liban informed Qabbani that he had to pay his due electricity bills for 1998 and the years before, or else it will have to cut power. However, this did not happen; the power was not cut, and the bills not paid.

“After what happened, can MP Qabbani tell the citizens how the power was not cut despite the clear law in this regard? How he benefitted from electricity for 16 years at the expense of the poor who live in the suburbs and already benefit from less power supply than Beirut residents?”
