The families of the kidnapped Lebanese troops were unable to access the mountainous regions of Arsal in order to visit the hostages.
Accordingly, two of the families left Arsal and returned home, while the other two stayed at the residence of Arsal Mayor Ali al-Hujairy, awaiting news of their loved ones.
Earlier in the day, sources told LBCI that three vehicles transporting the families of kidnapped troops entered the border town of Arsal
The families were the ones of Khaled Moqbel, Hussein Ammar, Mohammad Youssef and Nizam Mgheit.
The hostage troops and policemen were captured when jihadists from the Nusra Front and the Islamic State militant groups briefly overran the border town of Arsal last August and engaged in fierce battles with the Lebanese army.
Four captives have so far been executed, and the jihadists have threatened to kill the remaining hostages unless there is a deal to free Islamist prisoners in Lebanon.
