Cabinet tasks Mikati with drawing up 2006-2010 balance sheet

The cabinet decided to assign Mikati with the task of drawing up a draft on a balance sheet for 2006-2010. The draft will be later on submitted to the Finance and Budget parliamentary committee and it will also be examined by the Audit Bureau.

During Friday’s cabinet session, President Michel Sleiman said that the Higher Defense Council discussed the affairs of the displaced Syrians in Thursday’s session. Sleiman added that the council stressed the importance of deterring smuggling of weapons across the border, preventing the establishment of civil and military communities in Lebanon and blocking any military operation from and to Lebanon. According to Sleiman, the council underscored the need to transfer gunmen to the concerned judicial authorities that will implement the laws in force.

Sleiman met with Mikati in Baabda Palace prior to the session to have general discussions about recent developments.

The cabinet session chaired by President Michel Sleiman was held at 9 a.m. on Friday in Baabda Palace and convened another session for next Wednesday.
