Sleiman: Economic growth is bound to create more freedom and justice

President Michel Sleiman said on Monday that economic and social growth is bound to create more freedom and justice and preserve people’s achievements. 

During the 60th Jubilee of Arab Trade Rooms Union, Sleiman called for the organization of a joint workshop that will look into the best means to develop labor markets and to fight poverty and unemployment.  

“A comprehensive survey for Arab untapped resources is needed”, Sleiman said, adding that globalization should also be taken into consideration.  

Sleiman urged the participants to create a link between Arab financial and stock markets in order to boost cash influx and Arab partnerships.

“Lebanon was able to overcome the world financial crisis and distanced itself from the repercussions resulting from the regional tensions and turmoil”, the president said.  

Sleiman voiced hope that the crises will be solved peacefully with the consent of all parties in the Arab world in a way that will meet the people’s aspirations and the need for freedom, democracy and stability.
