Washington warns US citizens in Lebanon not to go to Baalbek

The U.S. embassy has warned its citizens in Lebanon on Wednesday, via emails, not to go to the town of Baalbek fearing “clashes between the Lebanese authorities and criminal groups and members.”

The embassy explained that its warning is based on advice addressed by the Lebanese authorities to westerners calling on them not to go to Baalbek.
