Labor Ministry calls for considering Lebanese job-seekers a priority

The Lebanese Labor Ministry urged all employers seeking foreign workers in any sector to give the priority to the Lebanese job-seekers and give them a chance should they fit the job requirements; otherwise, the ministry would be obliged to prosecute the employers who violate the law.

In a statement, the ministry said that its units will receive all complaints filed in this regard and will take the necessary measures accordingly.

In the same context, the Labor Ministry appealed to all foreign companies implementing development projects on Lebanese soil to recruit Lebanese employees and workers available on the job market.

On another note, the ministry’s inspectors conducted inspection tours and imposed fines on those who employ foreign workers who do not hold work or residency permits, adding that some companies have been referred to the public prosecution for violating Lebanon’s labor laws.
