Ministry of Economy says wheat does not contain carcinogenic materials
Ministry of Economy declared on Thursday that the wheat which Health Minister Wael Abou Faour previously said that it contains ochratoxin, does not contain any carcinogenic and harmful materials.
A statement issued by the media office of Minister of Economy Alain Hakim noted that the Ministry of Economy tested wheat samples, adding that the results showed that they are in a good condition.
Yesterday, Abou Faour announced that four out of seven samples of wheat tested by the ministry at Beirut Port do not meet health standards.

In a press conference, Abou Faour pointed out that wheat contains ochratoxin, a substance which causes cancer and Alzheimer.

He concluded by saying that wheat should not enter Lebanese territories without being tested.
