REPORT: Health Ministry says no need to panic over meningitis cases
A 6 year-old girl contracted meningitis and died soon after in the northern district of Akkar.
 
The disease is contagious; however the Ministry of Health said that it took preventive measures by providing medicines to the girl’s family and entourage.
 
The Ministry of Health also said that Lebanon did not exceed the general infection rate, adding that there is no need to panic over such cases.
