Municipalities to receive money from telecommunications ministry

Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnawi said Friday that municipalities will soon receive its money from the Ministry of Telecommunications. During a press conference held in the presence of heads of municipalities unions in Lebanon, Sehnawi said that he will submit a draft law to the cabinet.

Sehnawi said that the project he will present aims at explaining legal texts and adopting a table to distribute the independent municipal fund in order to reach a balanced development, pay the accumulated funds and distribute the sums of money collected since the date of the law’s issuance. This project also seeks to establish a municipal development institution to fund development projects presented by a municipality or a group of municipalities.
