LF leader Geagea holds talks with Tourism Minister Pharaon

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea met on Wednesday with Minister of Tourism Michel Pharaon in Maarab.

The meeting reportedly featured high over the latest political developments in the country, mainly the expected municipal elections as well as the file of the State Security Apparatus.

Following the meeting, Pharaon said that a political side is still hindering the election of a new president, adding that such acts increase the burdens that the Lebanese people are bearing.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of president Michel Sleiman ended in May 201 without the election of a successor.

Deep disputes between rival political parties have thwarted the polls, as Hezbollah and Change and Reform bloc are boycotting the election session.

Pharaon also condemned the latest attacks in Brussels, stressing the importance of cooperation between the political powers in terms of security to safeguard the stability of the country.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attacks on Brussels airport and a metro train in the Belgian capital on Tuesday that killed at least 30 people.
