Stories started cascading consecutively after LBCI opened the case of the trucks used for transporting garbage during the day and wheat during the night.
Eye witnesses were supposed to tell these stories and provide proof for such scandal, but their fear from being identified prevented them from giving statements through phone calls.
Meanwhile, the economy minister remains silent, and out of reach. Only one of his advisors responded to the reports saying that this issue lies among the responsibilities of the Transportation Ministry, noting that the wheat is subject to continuous control when stocked in silos.
For his part, the director general of wheat silos administration in the port of Beirut stressed that monitors are always present at the port in order to inspect the trucks' status.
