Bishops Khairallah, Saadeh injured in road accident on al-Barbara highway

Maronite Bishop of Batroun Parish, Mounir Khairallah and Bishop Boulos Emile Saadeh were injured Monday in a car accident on al-Barbara highway near al-Bitar Bakery, when they were on their way back from Bkerke meeting.

In the details, the vehicle they were riding, a black Toyota Camri, collided with a Volvo vehicle driven by Pierre Majed. Bishop Khairallah suffered fractures in the shoulder and wounds in the head, while Bishop Saadeh suffered fractures in the shoulders.

Red Cross teams rushed to the scene and transported the bishops to al-Maounat hospital in Jbeil, where they will undergo surgeries, the state-run National News Agency reported.
