The Disciplinary Council of the Order of Physicians in Lebanon decided Friday to ban abortions doctor Riad Alam from practicing his profession permanently.
This comes after the order listened to the testimonies of Dr. Alam and Anesthesiologist George Avakian after being accused of performing more than 200 abortions to 75 Syrian women, in the case of Chez Maurice hotel.
In this context, head of the Order of Physicians Dr. Antoine al-Bustani said in a press conference that agreement has been reached to widen the probe and reinvestigate with the anesthesiologist, noting that the latter is set to appear again before the Disciplinary Council in the next few days.
