Fatfat accuses majority of seeking to curb Jumblatt’s political influence
Lebanon Frist bloc MP Ahmad Fatfat said on Wednesday the electoral law tabled by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel is subjective, wondering “who drafted this law and on what basis?”

As he confirmed that he is not objected to proportional representation, Fatfat told Nharkom Said TV show that “the current events show that weapons have become an integral part of the internal political battle […]; any openly proportional system will allow Hezbollah to secure 90% of representation [in parliament].”

“What is currently going on reflects attempt by the March 8 forces to win a majority outside the framework of MP Walid Jumblatt by trying to downsize his political influence”, Fatfat said.

Fatfat added that “March 14 forces will reject any law that does not secure a fair representation for all parties and that does not limit the influence of weapons. “
