After the session Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc MP Ali Fayyad said that the Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri submitted a proposal which states the meeting of the Parliament’s Bureau Committee and their setting and re-arranging of the agenda according to the urgent legislation and electoral law.
“If the parties agree to this proposal then a parliamentary session will be held”, he said.
Fayyad explained that “Berri is going to wait until the end of the week for their responses in this regard, while there are signs of a possible agreement to be reached”.
For his part Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil expressed his anger towards what had happened during the session, stressing that the logic of justice and equality between Lebanese has long gone.
In this context, Telecommunications Minister Boutros Harb said that “the session was quiet and concentrated on reactivating the Parliament, stating that a president should be elected before issuing an electoral law.
During the session Head of Marada Movement MP Suleiman Frangieh stormed out saying that “silence is gold”, while Head of the Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt also left but without making any statement.
Sources told LBCI that the atmosphere of the session was not encouraging, as all parties were bluntly holding on to their positions on the urgent legislation file.
