Sahnawi oversees high-tech solution to poor connectivity in Lebanon

Telecommunications Minister Nicolas Sahnawi oversaw the first live demonstration of a Wireless Local Loop (WLL) in Lebanon.

In the town of Mayrouba, Telecom provider Alfa unveiled the first use of a WLL to provide “last mile” connectivity to internet or telephone services to customers. This technology is a step in developing the infrastructure necessary to provide broadband internet and telephone service to Lebanese villages that face connectivity issues and are deprived of added value services.

Sahnawi used this technology for the first time to call Speaker Nabih Berri.
