Lebanon's Hezbollah said Friday that its top military commander Mustafa Badreddine was killed in an explosion in the Syrian capital of Damascus, a major blow to the Shiite group which has played a significant role in the conflict next door.
Israel welcomed Badreddine's death, but officials have refused to be drawn on the country’s possible involvement.
From Israel's point of view, the more people with experience, like Badreddine, who disappear from the wanted list, the better.
