Bassil says elections proved that FPM is present in all the north
Free Patriotic Movement leader Gebran Bassil blamed on Tuesday the coalition in the northern city of Tripoli for the absence of Christians and Alawites in the city's new municipal council.
“What happened in Tripoli’s municipal elections is a result of an arrogant and hegemonic mentality,” Bassil said.
He spoke during a press conference from his hometown Batroun in north Lebanon.
“These elections proved that the Free Patriotic Movement is present in all the north,” he asserted.
