Hariri says municipal polls form opportunity to conduct internal reevaluation

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said on Thursday at an iftar banquet that the municipal polls formed an opportunity for him to conduct an internal reevaluation in the Future Movement.

He also noted that he “would have asked the municipal council to resign if Christian-Muslim parity had been breached in Beirut's municipal elections.

On another note, Hariri stressed that Saudi Arabia does not back any particular side in Lebanon, adding that there is nothing that can “disturb the relation between the Future Movement and the Saudi kingdom.”
