Lebanon bids farewell to television icon Alfred Barakat
Lebanon bid farewell on Thursday to the television figure Alfred Barakat who left the world at the age of 76 after battling against cancer.

Barakat kicked off his career in 1959 with the establishment of Télé Liban where he worked as head of broadcasting before he became Assistant Director of Programs. He kept his position until he left TL and moved to LBC in 1980 where he was hired as Director of Programs.

In the summer of 1985, the year LBC started broadcasting, Barakat was still the Director of Programs, a position he kept until he left the television.

His family and friends will bid him farewell on Friday afternoon in the Sacred Heart church in Badaro. His body will later be transferred to his hometown of Ain Ebel where he will be buried.
