Health Minister Wael Abou Faour stressed Wednesday, during a joint press conference with Agriculture Minister Akram Chehayeb, that they uncovered 45 types of agricultural pesticides containing carcinogenic and mutagenic substances.
The ministers said that an agreement has been reached in order to prevent the importation of any agriculture pesticide not registered in its country of origin, adding that all products that may contain carcinogenic substances will be returned.
The ministers also noted that the committee in charge of the pesticides will be reconsidered.
