REPORT: Refugee crisis rumbles on: Lebanese people lose their jobs

The repercussions of the Syrian refugee crisis continue to worsen on many levels, while the direct damages are reflected in figures and facts on the economic level.

In a statement released by the Labor Ministry, a small part of the struggles faced as a result by the Lebanese workers are listed.

Several international non-governmental organizations and private institutions discharged within days 1470 Lebanese employees, only to replace them with cheaper labor, mostly of Syrian nationals.

In this context, Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi said that the private institutions are free to address their supply and demand, noting at the same time that the ministry will pursue the institutions that violate the law.
