REPORT: Fahes explains perspective behind ‘skirt banning status’

Lebanese University’s Facebook page admin, Mohamed Fahes spoke to LBCI explaining his perspective behind posting a status saying “any girl on campus wearing a skirt or a short will be beaten”.

The status sparked outrage among students, LU officials refused to comment on the incident but published in a statement that it was Fahes’ personal opinion.

“If LU was to publish anything it would be through the university’s website”, the statement added, although the status was posted on LU’s Facebook page and not on Fahes’ personal page.
