Kaag visits Palestinian refugee camp in South Lebanon

United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Sigrid Kaag visited on Tuesday the al-Rashidiya Palestinian refugee camp in South Lebanon.

During the visit, Kaag met with representatives of Palestinian factions who briefed her on the situation inside the camp and the dire social and economic conditions faced by the camp’s residents.

The coordinator also visited the camp’s dispensary and the women’s high school and center, where she expressed concerns over the difficult living conditions of the refugees, and stressing that the United Nations will keep supporting the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
