Prominent Lebanese media personality Elie Salibi, who hails from the Mount Lebanon town of Souq al-Gharb in the Aley district, passed away on Sunday at the age of 75.
In his 60-year career, Salibi held the positions of journalist, producer, presenter, trainer and adviser.
He worked at the state-run Tele Liban, Voice of Lebanon radio, the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI), Orbit TV, Voice of America radio and Lebanon radio. He was assigned various tasks between 1984 and 2008.
Salibi, a former editor-in-chief at LBCI, also worked as a supervisor for the channel’s news department, before being appointed as adviser to Pierre Daher, the chairman of the board of directors.
He was also the author of several books. He held a book signing ceremony during the Beirut Arab International Book Fair last year.
