The town of Mayrouba has been struggling with the issue of rock and sand quarries since more than a decade.
In this regard, 11 years have passed since the municipality issued a decision to put an end to the work of quarries and concrete mixers but the decision failed to be implemented, until 12% of the town became dominated by quarries.
A similar decision issued by the interior minister one and half years ago also failed to be implemented, forcing the municipality to finally raise the voice.
