MP Jean Ogassapian to LBCI: Future Movement still endorse candidacy of Frangieh

Future bloc MP Jean Ogassapian said on Wednesday that Hezbollah did not submit any plan to bridge the gap in the point of views between the rival parties.

“Hezbollah is linking Lebanon’s internal affairs with the course of incidents and negotiations in Syria,” he said during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show.

On another note, he stressed that discussions took place during the Future bloc’s latest meeting over MP Michel Aoun’s candidacy to the presidency, adding that no voting took place in this regard.

“We made a comparison between Aoun and Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Frangieh,” he added.

He also stressed that Frangieh is “still the Future Movement’s candidate for the presidency.”
Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of president Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014 without the election of a successor.

Deep disputes between rival parties have thwarted the election process.
