Israel's Peres hospitalized after stroke, in stable condition -statement
Former Israeli President Shimon Peres was hospitalized on Tuesday after suffering a stroke, but he is conscious and in stable condition, his office said in a statement.

"His condition is stable and he is fully conscious," the statement said. "He is receiving medical treatment as needed."
