Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi stressed Sunday that “the need to stand by the Patriarchal See in its stances and to support the patriarch in his call to elect a new president.”
Following his meeting with Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai, Minister Azzi said that Rai’s recent stances have brought back the initiative to Bkerke, which remains the nation’s conscience, noting that it is not acceptable that “the politicians must not treat the presidential candidates as if they were feathers in the wind.”
In this regard, he called for resorting to the Constitution and electing a new president who represents the Lebanese people, restores the citizens’ confidence in the future, works on keeping the future generations in Lebanon and reinstates the democratic system to the state.
