'Loubnaniyoun' (“Lebanese”) Association, a Lebanese non-governmental association, organized on Wednesday a seminar tackling the issue of the women’s quotas in the electoral law.
Women from the civil society groups and political parties, lawmakers and human rights activists participated in the seminar where they discussed the importance of the woman’s role in the public sector and the achievements of prominent women in the Lebanese society.
The participants stressed the need to adopt a quota for women in any new electoral law so that the Lebanese women can be granted at least part of their rights.
