Sayyed: Jumblatt’s statements show inferiority complex of a traitor

In response to statements made by the Head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt regarding the Syrian era and symbols, Brig. Gen. Jamil Sayyed’s Information Office said that the statements are a testimony to the inferiority complex that a traitor usually experiences.

Sayyed stressed that the majority elections law deprives minorities of their voice, adding that Jumblatt was one of those profiting the most from this system implemented during the Syrian era. He said that Jumblatt as well as the Hariri family are still clinging to the privileges they enjoyed during the Syrian era starting from 1992, including the electoral law that granted them seats at the expense of Christian sects.

Sayyed added: “Turning to statements made by Jumblatt at some of his minsters who claim to be the touchstone and the preventers of strife in Lebanon, especially with Hezbollah, it would be good to remind everyone that had it been for the slander campaign launched by Jumblatt and his then-minister Marwan Hmadeh in 2006, the Sunni-Shiite strife would have been prevented. This same strife that led to the events of May 2008.”
