REPORT: Berri during Wednesday’s gathering: The return to the 1960s law is useless

Speaker Nabih Berri stressed during Wednesday’s deputies gathering in Ain al-Tineh that “he is in complete harmony and agreement with the Free Patriotic Movement regarding the electoral law based on proportional representation,” noting that returning to the 1960s law is useless.

For his part, MP Ali Fayad called on Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to announce commitment to full proportionality in the new electoral law, stressing that they reject “a masked 1960s law or a settlement law.”
