Gafo: Spain to reduce contribution to UNIFIL

Spanish ambassador to Lebanon Carlos Gafo said that his country is committed to help Lebanon, adding that Spain is intending to reduce its contribution to UNIFIL in South Lebanon. He noted that the 1701 resolution has not been fully implemented.

Gafo confirmed his country’s support for the initiatives of the UN and Arab League concerning the solution of the Syrian crisis, adding that EU is committed to the principles of refusing any form of violence and supporting dialogue.

The ambassador stressed that Spain supports peoples’ aspirations for further liberties and freedom.
