Al-Asir calls on his people in Tripoli to show restraint

Sheikh Ahmad al-Asir stressed on Monday, that the events in Tripoli are very dangerous, calling everybody to show restraint and patience.

During a press conference, Al-Asir denounced the control of any security apparatus and using it for the interest of a political party. He called on security apparatuses to do their part in protecting the Lebanese people without discrimination, because there are groups who kidnap, kill and investigate with people and violate the law without being investigated.

Al-Asir reiterated that a radical solution must be found for illegal weapons, adding that if arms remain in possession of a sect as it is today, because it threatens civil peace and provoke such incidents, especially that the Resistance is distributing weapons to its supporters everywhere.

Al-Asir warned against persisting in inciting and undermining the Sunni community, because it does not serve coexistence and we want to live together peacefully
