REPORT: Shocking figures reveal number of laid off Lebanese employees in 2016

The number of workers who have been arbitrarily laid off from their jobs at various institutions in 2016 is estimated at 12 thousand employees.

The institutions taking such steps varied between restaurants, hotels, factories, media institutions and others.

The main reason behind the layoffs is mainly the economic recession and the inability of the companies to bear additional burdens, as well as the competition imposed by the Syrian workforce.
