Since the year 1995 up until today, the file of the crushers and sand quarries has been featuring on the table of the successive cabinets without any decisive decision, but only reckless actions that led to the destruction of 5300 hectares of Lebanese green spaces that have become impossible to rehabilitate.

 

A report issued in 2006 suggested that 710 crushers and quarries are operating across Lebanon, the majority of which operate without a license and third of which only worked on rehabilitating their locations.
