President Aoun congratulates Macron on victory
President Michel Aoun held on Monday a phone call with the newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron, congratulating him on his win.
 
“Your victory is an affirmation of the will for change, openness and hope, and you can count on Lebanon and our personal friendship,” Aoun told Macron.
 
Emmanuel Macron was elected French president on Sunday with a business-friendly vision of European integration, defeating Marine Le Pen, a far-right nationalist who threatened to take France out of the European Union.
