Speaker Nabih Berri cabled on Saturday Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, congratulating him on his re-election for a second presidential mandate.
Berri described Rouhani's victory as a "great celebration of democracy," hoping that it "will achieve stability and prevent discord in the region." He also wished Rouhani success in rebuilding Iran's trust with the Arab and Islamic world, as well as reactivating its higher diplomacy which has enabled it to reach an agreement with the "five plus one" states, guaranteeing the interests and security of our people and nations.
